Looks like we are in good hands for years to come. Who needs 4 stars and Elite 11 qbs. We've got three guys who combined have what other schools get in one stud QB recruit.

Wow, I wasn't aware of any stud QBs in the nation who accounted for 99 TDs this season.

Man, you make me look positive, and that's tough to do. I would say that two of those guys have ELITE stats. Furthermore, anyone that has seen Boyle or Cook play can tell you that they are clearly Power 5 level athletes. My question on Boyle is how exactly does he fit into what Kirk wants to do on offense, as we run a completely different system than Dowling does. Either KF and GD will be long gone by the time that he's in the mix for playing time (2017 at the earliest), or they'll have to completely retool the offense in order to get him on the field. Maybe GD will install the Vince Young spread. Either way, I'm just happy that we took him off the board for Clown U, cause I think he could do some real damage there. Beneventi just looks like he had a horrible year. I wonder what the future holds for him.

It is an interesting crew. Boyle is a high school Johnny Football, and while talented, doesn't exactly fit what we do. Cook has intriguing size and athleticism for a QB, but has never really been projected to play QB at the high-major level. And Beneventi is a classic pro-style QB whose statistics for the past two years have been terrible. He seems likes he peaked in passing camps after his sophomore year.

It's really hard to predict how this will shake out. Probably a good thing we have Wiegers and Stanley sandwiched around this class of QBs, as those two appear to a bit safer prospects for what we do.

A clipboard?

I kid. Hopefully its just the result of switching programs going into your senior year. Major emphasis on Hopefully.

For those that might be a bit down on Beneventi, his highlight film is pretty impressive. I realize it's a highlight film, but he does make some damn good throws. I'm not writing him off yet.

It's a huge shot in the dark trying to guess these things when they haven't even practiced against D1 competition.

However, if I was going to take a shot in the dark I'd say Boyle ends up at QB, Beneventi transfers (at some point), and Cook starts out as a QB but eventually moves to TE because Boyle has the spot locked up. All of this being dependent on whether or not Kirk is willing to construct the offense around the team's talent. In my opinion, without seeing him play against D1 competition mind you, Boyle is just too talented to keep off the field. He could bring something to the Iowa QB position that we haven't seen in a long time, and if Kirk doesn't roll with that then I'm going to be ticked. I'm fully expecting to be ticked.
