Season Over; What of the Lickliter Era?

What of the Lickliter era? Barring any transfers over the next few weeks, it will continue for at least more one year.

Bravo.

There is no good reason why Lick would still be head coach next year. None. All signs point to he is out. Barta and Lick both talked as though something was up. It all comes down to money now.

Imagine the letdown after all this "hype". Fans would go NUTS if Lick is back. Now it's almost hard to believe he would return.

If any of you thought attendence was bad this year........

Wait and see how bad it really can get if Lick returns. I can see the average sinking to below 4,000 fans.

But Lick said he ISN'T leaving...at least not of his own accord.

That comment he made means nothing other than, at that point he was still the head coach and had not been told otherwise. There are many loopholes in a comment like that.

I don't get how a rumor of him resigning would surface BEFORE his potentially last game. You think Lickliter wouldn't even be ready to decide that until after he knew how his team finished the season.

If Lick stays I'm willing to bet Carver's attendance for the opening game will be an All Time low. The year's attendance will also be an All Time Low. Again, if you thought it was bad this year, expect much much much worse if Lick sticks around.

Re: Today is March 11....

care to make any bets on if that is the case come March 25?

I will make multiple bets (these all involve Iowa Men's Basketball with Todd coaching) Take your pick and call me in 2015:
1. Todd will be the coach for at least the next 4 years.
2. Iowa will be over .500 in 2010-11
3. Iowa will be in the NCAA tourney for Gatens Senior Year.
4. Iowa will win the Big Ten tourney in the next three years.
5. Iowa Basketball progress under Todd will mirror the progress of the Iowa Football team under Kirk in the early 2000's

The progress of the basketball team is already opposite of the football team. Ferentz's teams got better each year. Lickliter's have gotten worse.

Normally I would give you a lot of crap for this, but its to the point where its just too easy and seems pointless.

(Sigh)
