Season bests tonight

The obvious: Fuller.

Don't know about statistically, but I thought both Payne and Gatens had their best games tonight. Cully would have been even better if he could hit a FT or finish at the hoop, but his floor game was very good.

All of those performances were wasted thanks to one very bad coaching decision to allow Michigan to take the three at the end of regulation.

How does our final play (while down 3) involve a layup by Gatens with 6 seconds left? I'm fairly certain there are 300+ basketball schools that would've lined up a 3.

The BTN studio guys said the not to foul was the right move...too much time left. I would take my chances on Sims making that shot. And Fuller got fouled on that last drive. All we had to do is make the freebies at the end.........

The only reason I question not fouling at the end of regulation was simply knowing they had been red-hot most of the game from 3pt line so the odds of another one going down were pretty high regardless of who threw it up there (sort of like us vs NW). If I had to question anything it would have been the mugging that MI was able to put on Gatens to keep him from getting the inbounds that went to Payne who then only made 1 of 2 at the line. I am still trying to figure out why we did not set double picks to force the ball into Matt's hand at that stage of the game when we knew MI would be fouling immediately. Certainly there were other plays that had me scratching my head but I am still hopeful that these young men will continue to learn from each game and use a gut-wrenching loss like this as motivation to hit the gym and the weight room this off-season.

I realize that there just aren't many threads on this board to post negative comments about the Hawks basketball team...so thanks for bringing that over here.

I thought Fuller...Gatens and Payne all looked great tonight. If we could find a way to keep Cole out of foul trouble that'd help that much more...Brommer looked better than he has at times but he's not very active and he just looks lost out there most of the time. If he were getting more playing time that might solve the problem...who knows.

May struggled but his swat on Harris was still my favorite highlight from the game.

Coaching decision did not cost us the game. Missed free throws did. You guys are really reaching.....unfortunately for you this team continues to compete and Lick will be back next season.
