Glorified head hunters and have been contacted many times myself( before I got old lol) they basically make a lot of calls and put out feelers and even will mention salary ranges. In many cases the company doing the actual hiring doesnt even know the names. The search firm has a loose set of criteria to go buy and they basically make a lot of calls to see who might be interested. Then they take those names to the client and decide who they want to interview.. That is why we may be hearing so and so was offered the job or this amount of money was thrown about or that guy turned down the job. No offers are extended but guys may say not interested etc...........If they are still involved in the tourney they may just say yes I am interested but will not interview until they are eliminate from cosideration..

In other words we have no idea who is actually being interviewed or waiting to be interviewed. Actually the longer this goes the more I am encouraged that there are one or more guys still playing that are interested. Anyway that is what I think.. but then again I have never been recruited for that kind of money.. lol so I could be totally off base..

No. They simply gather a list of qualified candidates who show some interest for the search committee and Barta to review. No need for Barta to call coach X if there is no corresponding interest.
