Screen Pass

Please mix one in KOK when they're pinning their ears back and bullrushing the qb. Thank you.

We threw some short stuff to the RBs earlier. However, late in the game, we were looking for bigger yardage ... so we kept the RB back for blocking.

At the end, we still need our OL to pick up guys ... and we need Stanzi to throw away the ball so that he doesn't always eat those sacks.

We had almost four minutes, plenty of time. That was the PERFECT time to break out the jailbreak screen. At least leave that as a "hot route" type deal. Cause those corner blitzes were not disguised at all.

Yes ... but our OL also has to have executed those plays cleanly in practice prior to the game. Furthermore, you then need to "spend" an OT in order to chip out at a defender on the edge .... with how hard the DEs were coming down on Stanzi ... I don't think that he would have had the time.

I agree. One of the biggest problems was the pick 6. The quick slant was open all night, especially late, and KOK went away from it because of the fluke play that went for 6.

For sure, they did not disguise walking the MLB up to the line either. They were not secretive about the pressure. Stanzi needed to get rid of the ball.

For sure. And wasn't it the safety that came sprinting to the line on that last sack. He stood at the line for a good two count. To get sacked four times in a row is not just the quarterback or o-line. Your offensive coordinator has to put you in position to have a chance and KOK was BADLY outcoached on that last series. Does not adjust well on the fly. Did we have anyone short? I only saw 10-15 yard patterns..?

What do you think Stanzi was "arguing"/stressing to KOK and KF on the sidelines during those last few plays. Pretty adamant for Stanzi.

A hard count could have prevented them from jumping the count.

Repeating myself from another thread, on that last series Az didn't hide their blitz at all.
Hard count, screens, draws, shovel passes and roll the pocket seemed to be the antidote to their rush. JMO

How can you guys keep complaining and saying Stanzi needs to get the ball out? He's got to be the easiest target for Hawkeye fans. The bull rush was collapsing the pocket from the inside and out. He couldn't get out of the pocket. And if he throws it away from in the pocket, its a flag. It's not his fault, sure.. he missed a throw here and there, but he also had the receivers drop a couple deep TD passes.

O'keefe has been the cripple of this team for awhile now, and will prevent us from a National Championship.
