Nice comments for the son of our basketball coach, already committed to IOWA!

[h=3]Connor McCaffery (Iowa City, Iowa), Iowa City West HS – 2017[/h]After committing earlier this fall to play at Iowa for his father, Fran, Connor came into the night’s marquee matchup focused. In a game with the home team Hopkins HS, McCaffery was on point from the opening tip making plays even though his shot wasn’t falling consistently. He’s got the size and skill to be effective in the Big Ten not to mention all the advanced basketball that he’s been around at an early age. We expect him to be a prospect firmly in the discussion as we expand to 60 in the BrandonClayScouting.com ELITE Rankings during the 2015 calendar year.

It is always nice to see commits continue to play well and get national recognition. In this case, I don't think we have to worry about him wavering on his commitment.

I'm sure he is going to be a really skilled player, but it seems like whenever I see something about him it usually says his shot wasn't falling. He will be a great player for Iowa, but I hope he develops into a great shooter.

Isn't he left handed? Those types of guards for some reason are always tricky to guard. What if he grows some more and I'm sure he'll gain weight and get stronger. He could turn into one heck of a player...

I remember when Gary Trent SR played against the Hawkeyes under Mr. Davis. He was a handful. He played for Ohio University and and called The Shaq of the MAC.....

"shots not falling"...hmmm...he will fit in nicely with Iowa. Man...I'd just once love to see this team hit like 60 percent from three. College shooters shouldn't miss this many wide open threes. Olgesbee is supposed to be a sharp shooter...sniper type...rarely misses when open. He can't find one right now...then need to round up the villagers and comb the countryside for his shot...it's gone and hid somewhere.

This future son coach combo gives me hope like Mcdourmette son father coach-player combo

His brother will play for Iowa too, so it will be interesting to see how it all works out. I think both of his sons are going to outgrow the guard positions, but it remains to be seen. They are skilled for their ages, and they have the genes from both parents.

Let's just hope he doesn't de-commit/ask to be released to go play for his dad at DePaul or Creighton --- similar to what another young lad from this state did.

That will mean the next two years don't go according to plan.
