Good read from Dochterman. Iowa is at ILL and MSU, with OSU and Mich at home.

I knew Illinois lost McCamey and Tisdale but didn't realize the other starts they lost. They are going to be young and full of thoroughbreds, but as Scott says it will be interesting to watch chemistry..and a new PG is always a challenge.

Michigan losing Darius Morris to early NBA entry really hurts...takes them from a chance at being a top 3 seed in the dance back to a 6 or 7 seed at best IMO.

OSU loses Lighty, Lauderdale and Diebler, all glue players...but Matta is recruiting at levels I havent witnessed in my life for the OSU program.

I like Iowa's draw in the league but I wish we played the Illini at home instead of OSU or MSU. I think we can beat the Illini and Michigan at home, but not OSU.

I still think Michigan misses Morris more than the early polls will likely suggest. We will beat Michigan! I am on record with that one.

Illinois is such a wildcard to me. Last couple years I have been very high on them, but they have failed to live up to expectations. They are dealing with a ton of departures, but still have quite a bit of young talent. They are one of the harder teams for me to predict (I guess they have been for a couple years now actually). I wish we had them at home too though. I am not sure the Hawks have won there in my lifetime... sure doesn't feel like it anyway.

With the records that Iowa has AT Illinois and Mich St, if I were a betting man I would bet that Iowa does not win at these places THIS year. Mich St has always been a terrible place for the Hawks to play. Saying this, Iowa really needs to pick up a couple of wins on the road elsewhere. The road will be tough for the Hawks again, however if they could win three games on the road and hold home court advantage (losing only one or two games), the season would be a great success in my book. It would definitely be nice to see things go Iowa's way for awhile and break the Alford jinx and start seeing teams miss that final shot.
