There has been some good discussion of schemes/techniques so far this season, and there are some posters who seem knowledgeable with regard to what Iowa is trying to do on both sides of the ball. I was hoping to take advantage of that knowledge to learn more myself. I want to start by asking questions about the D-line:
Before talking about alignments, first I want to know about setting the strength of the defense. I believe Iowa generally has a strong- and weak-side DT and DE. Correct?
They certainly have numerous ways of determining the strength-side of the offense (TE location, # of receivers, field vs. boundary; am I missing any?). Related to this:

- Do they have a "favorite" way of determining strength (i.e., one they use most frequently across different opponents)?
- Do they switch up how they determine strength a lot from play to play, or more from opponent to opponent?
- Does Iowa always flop DL to strength, or do the DT and DE sometimes just stick to a side (e.g. versus a high-tempo team)?
