Scalping In Lincoln

Anyone here ever scalped tix in Lincoln? I’ve always used StubHub but they’re way out of line now.

Thought about taking my kid down for the Hawks game this year; the cheapest ticket on StubHub right now after fees is $86, no fucking way am I paying that to sit way up top surrounded by a bunch of Skoal smelling monster truck fans.

Are there any mouth-breathers walking around unloading $40 tickets right before kickoff?

I've been buying from scalper for years at many venues and always find the prices better on game day then anything on StubHub this far out from the game. If the Pornhuskers drop a couple more games between now and then prices will drop like a rock. You might want to dress in neutral colors in Lincoln when you buy there, they will jack the price for any Hawk fans trying to buy.

The plan is old school breakaway Husker basketball warmups with the snaps, as soon as the tickets are in hand I spectacularly rip those babies off and yell go Hawks.
Those old breakaways were the best.
I remember my senior year of college when Matt Bullard missed two months with a knee injury. He was cleared to play just in time for a showdown with an Illinois team that would reach the final four that year but Mr. Davis, being cautious, had him come in off the bench. Or perhaps Davis had a sense that Matt may make a grand entrance. In any case just before the first TV timeout, Davis summoned him.

Bullard ripped off those breakaways and may have tossed them into the fifteenth row. Carver went nuts.

I was at the game. I later found out that Dick Vitale went almost as nuts on TV. "BULLARD IS OFF THE BENCH BAYYYBEEEE!!!!!"

I was wondering around behind the announcers table about fifteen minutes before that game, not far from my seat. I was standing about fifteen feet from Dick Vitale. He was trying to get last minute show prep completed just before a big game involving top ten teams., Asking sports info people last minute questions, making sure he had the correct year we went to the Final Four, etc. Meanwhile, people kept coming up to him wanting to shake his hand, pose for a quick picture.

This was fifteen minutes before a big game and Vitale had time for every single one of them. Seeing this and hearing other stories of how he treats people he deserves every bit of love he gets. He's at the John Madden stage of his career now, but in his prime he helped make college basketball appointment TV.

I thought your thread title was about the fans wanting a piece of Frost's scalp. I thought I would fine some entertaining and exciting stuff here. But as one person said all stadiums have the professional scalpers there buying up tickets as cheap as they can, hogging the product and hoping to sell for a profit. But usually I have seen many regular fans selling for decent prices and the scalpers will want to unload their supply right before game time.

Hell, I couldnt hardly give away a couple of tickets at Kinnick one year when OSU was coming in ranked #3. I think I sold them for $5 each so I could get a couple pints.

I’ve had good luck at quite a few Big Ten &12 stadiums, just never tried in Lincoln so wasn’t sure how much there was to be had.
