Sash Turning Pro

All in all I think we lucked out that we only lost Sash. He is the most ready of the three although I think Prater would be drafted near or higher than him. This isn't a talent laden Safety class and he has a chance to be on of the first four selected. That usually means third to fourth round.

He's also 23 years old and has had two shoulders surgeries already. Not surprising in the least. Still disappointing, but not surprising. I was really hoping to see him play for one more year. He would have had one helluva reception on Senior Day, too.

Tanner Miller/Jordan Bernstine?
Tanner Miller/Donatell?

Is our starting safety duo for the first game of 2011 one of the two above?

I think you can pencil in Tanner Miller for sure, but I think there will be stiff competition for the SS job- I think it most likely that Bernstine will win it if healthy and that Swanson and Nielsen will also factor in. I also think that it is possible Hitchens could win the job.

Agree Miller is most likely a lock for a spot back there. For the other spot I would also watch out for, verbal commit, Law to compete. We'll probably see bigger hits from the safeties next year but question mark is their coverage skills.

I think Sash was the most ready of the three but also had the lowest upside. I guess I don't see him as a real difference maker in the NFL, but I don't think another year was going to change that. He is what he is.

He has a knack for getting to the ball and no one can doubt his hustle or heart. But his tackling is average at best and that will cause some issues at the next level where everyone is faster and stronger.
