Sash: No Regrets

I think Tyler probably made the best decision here, given the shoulder surgeries that he has had...and he was never going to be a jaw dropper at the combine. Has enough film to get drafted in a decent position to put some money in the bank and live real smart if and until he gets the second contract.

Its not often that injuries are a good reason to go pro early. In this case, I have to agree with his decision. Only so much wear and tear on your shoulders.

Agreed, I've been saying this all along. Not to mention the fact that he's "old". He absolutely made the right decision.

old? he has to be 3 years removed from hs? this was the earliest he could go. or are you saying his body is old due to injuries?

He is "old" in that he turns 23 in May, despite having a year of eligibility left. Dallas Clark was of a similar age when he turned pro after his 4th year in college, Sash also just completed his 4th year of college. I think Shonn Greene was similarly "old".

I still disagree and think he would have been better served returning to school. His mental game is what is going to get him drafted, not his physical talents. I think one more year of experience would have helped him. Also showing he can make it through the year without his shoulder being a problem would go a long way as well. Just my .02

As a 3-year starter, he's pretty much seen it all, and NFL teams have seen his playmaking ability over and over. The only thing he could have maybe improved was his tackling from this past year. But, it's been theorized by us uniformed that perhaps the shoulder injuries were what led to his decline in tackling performance in the first place. Coming back risks further injury, and a third one like that would REALLY hurt his stock.

Kids have a tough call to make......he could go in the early rounds and make some serious jack$. I hope he goes to Indy or KC?

This is where I disagree. Doesn't mean I'm right, just my opinion.

He was a RS JR. The equivalent of a senior. Most of who usually turn 22 during or shortly after their senior years. He was either held back or started a year late. It was a good choice for him just like it was Shonn Greene. He was 23 because he had 3 years at Iowa along with a year out of school and a year at prep school.

My guess would be started school late way back in the day. He's old for his class, and he was redshirted.
