“As of right now before the game, I’d say I’m coming back, but I’m not 100 percent sure,†said Sash, an all-Big Ten strong safety who has 13 career interceptions going into Tuesday’s Insight Bowl. “As of right now, as of today, if I had to make a decision, I would be coming back. But I haven’t gotten the papers back and haven’t made a 100 percent decision.

Nothing wrong with that, I suppose. Ultimately, they have to do what's best for themselves. And I think we'd be ok going forward without them. Not spectacular, but ok.

If we lose Sash, and McNutt do leave early we are going to be left with a very young team next season. Either way we are going to be young but this just makes us younger. I think next fall we will look back at this season and consider it a success.

We need both of them back. Both provide a ton of skill and leadership on their respective squads. Vandy needs Marvin as an option, big-time.
MHO.

They will both make a lot more money if they stay. But both should be able to make a team, just not guaranteed money. That being said, they should have guaranteed money if they stay for their senior seasons. I would bet on it...if I were a betting man.

If they stay, they will be the two most talked about players on the team. You cannot buy that type of pub. And they will get it all season long!

Unless they suffer a career-ending injury. Then they get no money. Nothing is guaranteed in life, especially a pro-sports career.

Since Prater deferred the question to KF I'm guessing he filed too. Reiff said he didn't file, I'm thinking everyones back and at worse we lose one.

Anyone that thinks this is a big deal is not understanding of the process. In fact I would think most every junior that has the possibility to play in the NFL to file papers to see where they stand. It's merely a gauge for these guys. Marvin will be back, that I'm sure of. Sash, if he is smart, will return also. He has a lot of screws to tighten up with his game.

How will what we do next season have us reconsidering what happened this year as a success or failure?

These two will both be back once they get responses from the NFL. Neither is NFL ready at this point. Hopefully, these two do not have some moron in their ear.

I don't think any of them are going in the first 2 rounds so I think it would be stupid to leave.

But if people are telling them they will go in the first two rounds and they stay - that is taking a big gamble.

Sash should go now. Defense won't be as good next year and that could hurt his draft status. Also, I love it when people say they have things to tighten up. We heard the same thing about Clabyorn last year after he dominated and it might cost him some spots in the draft

Clayborns measurables are the same if not better than last year. He is a first round pick for sure. Prob. Top 15.

I think Clayborn's size was his knock last year. You put up two years of sick stats and people will look beyond the size. Unfortunately for Clayborn, he rushed with pretty much one move this year, which was the speed move to the outside and every team just drove him wide around the QB, severely limiting his effectiveness. He did have one nice inside rush against NU, but NU's left tackle made a great block from behind by grabbing Mr. Clayborn's jersey and pulling him down, leading to a great TD pass by Persa.

I hope McNutt talks to O'Keefe. O'Keefe has a history of turning out NFL caliber WRs and another season in that offense with stats that rival Crabtree's will do wonders for McNutt's draft status.

Clayborn did not cost himself anything. He was projected as a late first rounder if he would have left last year. The top 5 NFL draft talk was for this year's draft, assumin he had another great year (which he did not). He moved up probably half a round by staying another year. Doesn't seem like much but it's several million dollars.
