Same problem as last year

This is the age of the 3 ball...

Teams must have at minimum 3 legit 3 ball threats on the floor at all times.

Playing White at the 3 last year basically prohibited us from doing so.

Now Jok or Ogelsby can't throw it in the ocean... We have are left with 2 PG who aren't great shooters and we have no threats at the 4 or 5 spots.

we just benefited from a team that shot even worse than us.

Gotta give the D credit. They have played tough. The Length of Woody, White, Uthoff and Olaseni is causing problems.

I guess it's kinda interesting... Rather than 3 shooters on the floor I guess we almost always have 3 shot blockers.

We shot terribly and we're not the best shooting team but I have to think that with the open looks we got it's still an anomaly. Uthoff and White aren't going to do that every night. We honestly could have won by double digits.

Yeah you can't count on teams to shoot under 30% to win. Gonna have to figure the offense out at some point but glad they got the defense amped up.

Could be the product of who Iowa is playing also. Texas is the only good offensive team Iowa has played and the lit Iowa up in the 2nd half.

The D was good enough tonight though and for now that's fine by me.

I'd say bigger problems are the lack of rebounding in the first half and the inability to put together a complete 40 minute game.

If Carolina could have hit a shot in the first half they would've been up double digits since they had something like 19 offensive boards in the first half. Had Iowa rebounded in the first half like they did in the second half, Iowa would have won by 15+.

Tonight, not gonna worry about the shooting too much. Just gonna enjoy the W. Not every day Iowa wins @UNC.

That said.... OUCH. For both teams. Don't think I want to even look at the box score.

Rooting for UNC to put it together and have a big season since that makes this win look that much better for the Hawks. I just hope this one isn't a little bit of fool's gold.

That said, gotta give credit to Iowa's D. It was excellent all night. That's the most encouraging part of tonight's win.. Even if the shots aren't falling, they still have a shot if they play tight D.

True. Iowa was getting murdered on the glass in the first half, and early in the second, but they started doing a much better job down the stretch, which I think was key. Yeah, the shooting.. Either team would have won by 15 if they could have made ANYTHING.

Do you know who leads the nation in made 3s per game? VMI. Do you know who is 344th in the nation in made 3s per game? Syracuse. Three point shooting is not the end all be all that you make it out to be.

With all the bunnies and Paige's off-night the North Carolina Substitute-Student/Athletes missed they could say the same thing.
