Running backs and running game

I thought one of the bright spots for a first game and a game against a big opponent was the running game. All three backs have good leg drive and power and get extra yards, they are not speedsters but hit holes quick once they make the cut, IKM I thought looked healthy and very capable. I thought the outside zone blocking worked well and created good lanes to the edge and some cutback lanes. In recent years the outside zone blocking just was not up to snuff.

jNW will crowd the LOS but I hope the hawks just try to power run right at them, make the correct cuts, push the piles, and wear out the mildcats.

Fitz, being a former broken leg LB, has always brought the heat. So F him.... Petras is gonna have a hay day. Yes, I'm drunk, so listen when I say hay, rhymes with clay, I just may......
Petras, 245 yds, 2 scores. Smith-Marsette has more catches than our FB AND KF had the Rona..... goodnight freaks

Fat Pitsgerald is my least favorite coach of any spot on the planet. Even scott frots is a notch ahead of him.
Fitz is prolly a top 10, maybe top 5 coach nationally. He ain't Dabo or Nick, but if I had a blue blood program I'd hire that guy in a second. He's a materially better coach than KF but is completely hog tied by the Northwestern admission standards and general suckiness. He's smart enough to know he has an annuity contract where he is and he loves NU. I'd take him at Iowa over KF for sure. He'd be approximately +1.5 in the win column over KF with Iowa's draw and lower academic standards.

Bielema held that spot for me but now Fitz is the one I hate the most too. What makes it worse is he knows how to exploit Kirk’s weaknesses and Kirk doesn’t seem to even try to change it.
