Jacob Rudock threw a school record 5 TD's in a 56-0 win on friday night to win the district over S. Broward. Rudock has now thrown 60 TD's in his two years as the starter for St. Thomas Aquinas. He threw for 251 yards and the Raiders scored 28 points in the first quarter to put the game on ice. Rudock is going to be a great Hawkeye and I can't wait to get him to Iowa City. St. Thomas is now 9-0 and ranked as high as 2nd in the nation by one of the high school polls. He could be in the mix for player of the year.

A side note is that St. Thomas has outscored their opponents 168-6 in the last three games.

This Kid is an elite QB (eff the recruiting services)

His team had 16 players get D-1 scolly's last year. His team is No.2 in the nation. He has several players this year that will get D-1 scolly's, and he is only a 3-star?

He signed with Iowa... that equals 3 stars unless the services thought he was going to go to Notre Dame in which he would promptly be given 5 stars. Perception is key! Sometimes I wonder if our coaching staff isn't really turning 3 star recruits into NFL players OR the recruiting experts are just turning future NFL players into 3 star recruits.

Iowa and Recruiting Services: EXPOSED!

Our gain, are we really concerned about the national perception when it comes to recruiting?

It's not so much us anyone is worrying about. It's whether other recruits yet to verbal care about this sort of stuff. How many kids want to be part of a "top rated" class? All we really know at this point is that last year and this year Kirk has gotten many of the kids he targeted early. Which continues to bode well for the future.
