I know it sounds crazy, but I think rudock was what inspired the final goal line stand. After their leader went down, they had to dig deep and make a stand at the goal line to win the game. This was classic Rudock.

I disagree. It's getting hit right as he starts to slide. No way a defender can let up in that situation.

Yes the slide is a play to protect the QB but the defender shouldn't be penalized because the QB wanted to pick up every last inch or yardage and not get hit.
