I like this except for the part about Leviticus Payne when stating his options

Southfield defensive back Leviticus Payne (Cincinnati and Bowling Green)

Hopefully this is because it is a UM writer, but I hope iowa would sit higher with him than BG

Iowa backed off. He was quoted a while ago as saying he wasn't hearing from Iowa much lately. Besides, he was all about immediate playing time.
 


FWIW-Laron's latest tweet says he's on the phone with a Iowa coach. Lile is up.

Lile is #51 on scout.com's Midwest 101. Ahead of a number of other Big Ten commits. Apparently, this spring/summer he's being making a impression.

That is pretty interesting. I wonder who else, other than Fleming, we're looking at (at CB) who we have a really good shot with. Maybe Tevin Shaw?

They may just be waiting to see film. They took two CB's last year and may feel they'll just wait for a number of "athletes" to decide. One or two of which will end up at CB.

Iowa seems to be IN with alot more ATH types than other years. My guess is there are some options and KF likes to have a couple of 'ships ' open late because there are always guys that seem to pop up out of nowhere.

Good point. With Campbell, Lomax, and Fleming he may be confident enough in the youth at the position to be patient and wait for another kid to emerge late.
 


From Allen Trieu on Cass Tech teammates Lile and Taylor. I'm feeling really good about getting the both of them. The sooner Lile commits the better, but he's had Iowa at #1 thoughout so not too concerned about losing him especially if Taylor commits this Friday. Taylor has been tweeting consistently about getting texts from and talking to the Iowa coaches.

"I talked to their coach today, pretty sure they're both going to the same school."

Is anyone else nervous about recruiting kids from Detroit? I know we need to consider each person as an individual, but the last two guys we got from Detroit were Dominique Douglas and Cedric Everson. We've gotten a few guys from the surrounding area, but none since those two from the heart of the city. Detroit is a very different place from Iowa City, so I'm sure it is a tough adjustment. Am I being overly paranoid here?

No worries. Soup has connections in Michigan. The guys we get now are vetted through Soup first. If there were red flags ... Soup would know and that would impact our recruiting.
