I was walking out of the Marriott in Cedar Rapids about 4:15 Saturday and Roy walked in right past me. Couple people tried to say hi which he ignored.

I assume he was in town to see Paige who played that night. I can hold out just a sliver of hope that the reason he came all the way to Iowa in the middle of his season to watch a kid that has already verballed is because he is nervous Ol' Fran is going to steal him away right?:rolleyes:
 
Not only would Fran say Hi but he would then go on a 10 minute tirade about the officiating in the last game and how we need to be more physical on defense.
 
I was a little disappointed our fellow Iowans were being so welcoming to him. Should have shoved him right back out the door into the snow pile!
 
I used to work at the casino in altoona and he stopped there like 3 or 4 times while I was there back when he was wooing Barnes. He was really nice and talked with alot of fans. What I thought was cool was for the most part people left him alone to go play and relax. I heard from other employees that delt with him that he was really cool and nice with everyone. I don't like that so many Iowa kids have went and played for him but I won't say that he's a dick from what interactions that I've had with him.
 
FWIW, Paige already signed with UNC. He *can't* back out of his commitment at this point and Iowa *can't* contact him.

if i were allowed to pick a team and could take paige or gesell i would pick paige. cant go wrong with either. both are very talented. im sure fran would take paige if he could.

You are absolutely right man, for some reason wasn't even thinking about the fact they signed the line a few weeks back. All the more reason it seems odd he would come all the way up here to watch though, unless there was someone else he was interested in now which I can't think of anyone.

no good coach wants to keep up good relationship with their players and their family.:)
 
Mr. Brust meet Wisconsin??? Not saying it isn't true, but jeesh how many recruits have changed their mind and said they wanted to play closer to home due to family reasons or whatever. We have lost many this way in recent years.
Like I said... I doubt that is the reason Roy was in town... but what?

Well comparing Brust to this is COMPLETELY different. The coach he committed to was fired and he didn't want to play for the new coach and was released from his scholly. Roy is in fine shape and Paige isn't coming to Iowa.
