Rough weekend for Big 12

I think caring about which conference is best is a pretty silly endeavor, but yet I just can't help falling into that silliness. The B1G has had some rough non-conf weekends the past few years, but I am not sure they have had one as rough as the Big 12 just had:
  • Texas and Oklahoma did what they should have, trounced inferior opponents (so far so good)
  • Baylor also beat SMU handily
  • West Virginia was tied at half with FCS Youngstown St., pulled away for 38-17 win
  • #15 TCU was upset by unranked Arkansas
  • #22 Ok St was upset by Central Michigan (never should've happened, refs screwed up, but still a loss)
  • Kansas got trounced by Ohio
  • Texas Tech was beaten 68-55 by Arizona state, giving up 650 yards of offense (over 300 rushing and passing)
  • Iowa State was shellacked by instate rival Iowa 42-3
Considering their top projected team already has a loss to a non-P5, a weekend like that will make it tough to get a team into the playoff picture.

With ISU's season now pretty much down the drain watch for Cyclone fans to obsessively cling to the performance of the Big 12.

The Big12 has been pretty bad the last 2-3 years really. The typically have 2-3 good top 25 teams, and then the rest is avg. to complete garbage (KU and ISU).

I will say

Can't wait for the KU and clown game. That should be a classic.
