Rough night again from the line for Fran's son

Not hitting free-throws when his team really needed them. Valley downs West for 4a title.

Something about that free throw line......

It happens.

I really hope Connor is all conference as a true frosh, cause I can see a lot of negative coming if he struggles at all. Expectations will be very high, unreasonable even.

He's going to struggle at the B1G level. The abuse he's going to take is going to be something else.

He looked slow and doesn't shoot that well. Didn't see any drives to basket. Yeah I know, only a junior. The competition is going to be a heck of lot better at the next level. As mentioned before, coach's sons get a lot of scrutinizing. Will he be on scholarship or walk on? I saw at least 10 others as good as him in tournament. Are they getting Iowa offers?

This thread is soooo bad bashing and belittling a JR. in High School. Seriously, just Wow!!

^^ totally agree. I almost couldnt believe the thread title when I first read it.

I remember Bobby Hansen and Mark Gannon struggling at the free throw line their freshman year at Iowa. Many players are like this.

Why a thread on this topic.

starting in already? Couldn't you at least wait until he got on campus to bash him? It would probably be in Frans and the kids best interest if he just walked on at Iowa or went elsewhere.

Is it that hard to believe a 17 year old kid could be influenced by reading bad things about himself?

I am sure FM the father has prepared him for life in the fish bowl. In fact, i am pretty sure both parents have.

i thought it was interesting watching the game. a team - west - that has at least 3 division 1 players on it's roster - possibly more - i just don't know their squad - and valley pretty much handled them the entire game. i do agree with the sentiment of the posters that i didn't see anything stand out to me on the green team - was waiting to be amazed, but it never happened.

Didn't seem like their coach gave ICW the best chance to win. Didn't seem to change their game plan vs. the zone for instance though I only saw the second half.

C.M. didn't stand out to me at all but he's only a JR. and it's the only half I've seen him play. You could find a half that Lebron or Kobe played in high school that wouldn't make them look that good I'm sure.

Thought Pemsl looked pretty good in the 3A. He might struggle vs. tall, athletic bigs but he has a better looking shot, 12 feet and in, than any big on our roster right now. Plus he's a space eater.
