Ross's offer...good for him.

If he decides takes the Alabama offer, I don't blame him. I hope he doesn't leave but I won't utter one word against the young man if he does, none of us would have any clue about having that kind of opportunity.

This isn't "a bigtime offer"....it's the Biggest-Time offer...at least for right now. If you start for AL right now, your a lock for a NFL opportunity.

Now...all that being said....from a position standpoint....IA can get him the the NFL as well as AL...for Lineman postition anyway. If he wants the NC opp and exposure...can't help him there.

Because I'm feeling a little spicy......Where are all the snide comments about our recruiting a kid that only MAC and D2 schools want, where are all the "KF and his staff can't recruit", "ohh, yeah, look at that crappy offer list for so and so". This is what happens when you compete for talent....don't cry about AL swooping in...cause this is what happens when you want the "ready to play" level talent.

And before the awesome post about "yeah, but this was easy cause he was an Iowa kid and fan who was in our back yard so it doesn't count"......Yep...just like TX, FL, AL, USC, OK...get the VAST majority of their kids....from their back yard. OR was an exception...look how that is turning out....and we don't have NIKE or the West coast.

my point...recruiting without weather, major tradition, $$$, is damn tough....you need a kid or 6 like Ross to turn some things around for ya.....AL will have a stock FULL of Ross's....the Hawks won't....maybe that and his fandom keeps him here....

You can be critical of KF and GD and the staffs decision, critical of the in game decisions, personel usage, all of it...cause in falls on the staff....cool...fine...i'm with ya.......however......have something tangible, make a good point, hell...even make a decent joke. Incessant Drivel will be noted...and admonished.....

....when I have time that is.

....what happened, I blacked out there for a minute......

Go Hawks

i'd only have an issue with all of this if he accepts the bama offer. only reason i say that is because he made a commitment to another school and he should honor the commitment. now if the school overhauls the coaching staff after his commitment, then by all means re-open your recruitment.

By this logic Iowa have never landed several players, including Albert Young.

The flipping kind of balances itself out over the years, IMO.

Iowa has benefited from the flipping a lot. CJF, Reggie Spearman, LaShun Daniels, Barkley Hill, Mikail McCall.

So it happens both ways.

I'm happy for RP. He seems like a good kid and I think the only way for him going anywhere other than Iowa is KF or BF leave.

Best rant ever!!!!!! And makes too much sense for some on here to comprehend.

This makes great sense in a perfect world...but not in the one we live in. I love the prospect of him staying and really wanting to be a Hawkeye.

That said, if you "committed" to a job with an unknown future of the position, management, or company...and then was offered the same job with likely better pay, better benefits, more stable company, and a management team that was as safe and secure as any..........yeah.....me too......
