If for instance Ohio St wins the Big 10 CG and goes to the playoffs the Chad L. of the Register reported the Rose Bowl would pick the next highest ranked Big 10 team in the College Football Playoff rankings (except for special circumstances). So if Mich St is ranked 8th and Iowa 9th but a division winner Sparty will still most likely go to Rose Bowl.
That just plains sucks but if OSU beats MSU and Iowa wins out and finished 12-1 I think the hawks are ranked higher.
