Rodney Coe

I wont believe it until he commits one way or another. looking at his profile he may be saying different things to different schools (Nebraska ahead of Iowa and Oklahoma).

on that note, would love to have him come to Iowa.

Saw on another board that Coe is down to 2 schools, Iowa and K-State.

You saw that Iowa and K State are his two favorites. There is a big difference between down to those two and having them as favorites. Regardless, I think Iowa sits well with him even though he is a legacy at K State.

They always say that stuff which is why I laugh at people who pay for recruiting news on some sites. I dont care what HS kids have for lunch, what their favorite color is or anything else like that. I always get a laugh at the articles written after said recruit visits a school.....we caught up with John Doe to see how his visit went and what his thoughts are. They always say the same thing, loved the coaches, the school was great, I had a good time. Have you ever read one of those articles where the kid said his visit sucked something awful and he now hates the school he visited??

+1

He's not down to Iowa and ksu, just current favorites.

Do you have any links for this John Doe guy? What are his measurables? :D

Sorry, that is what I meant to say. I was in class and didn't have time to fully think it through.

Isn't that how it always is. And back on point, I hope that Coe is on board. Sounds like an absolute beast that could play on either side of the ball. Hope he gets taht list down to 1 soon, and on top is 4 letter word.

I certainly hope so as well. He could be a monster of a LB. I'm also hopeful for getting Cyrus Kouandjio, the #1 OL prospect. He's Marcus Coker's former teammate, and I'm sure he wouldn't mind going to one of the nation's offensive line factories to block for a high school teammate.

Here is a link to an article where Coe talks about his recruiting.

CrimsonConfidential.com - Tide still in hunt for Illinois big back prospect

One thing that scares me is the quote, ""It's not the competition I'm worried about," he said. "My big thing is depth. I don't want to go to a school where there's like eight running backs stacked up. I don't want to have to wait until my junior or senior year to play."

The good news on this front is that by the time he's a redshirt sophomore, Robinson, Wegher and Hampton will be gone.

You beat me to the punch there. The trio of SOs are well separated from Coe (if he chooses Iowa). Furthermore, DeAndre Johnson is undoubtedly slated to redshirt. Lastly, Rogers has already seen a substantial number of reps at FB ... thus, don't be shocked if he moves to FB after Leppert graduates (if not sooner).

Thus, given the above consideration, the Iowa stable of RBs will NOT be log-jammed AT ALL by the time Coe were to jump aboard. Furthermore, Coe would even have a shot to see some limited reps as a RS FR, without the pressure of being a starter. That way, by the time he is a SO, he would be poised for success.

Let's not forget about the beast from the east...Coker will still be here and what a tandem that would be! Your "change of pace"??? Your change of pace is getting the ball crammed down your throat some more by another BIG back!!!

Coker is why I think I would prefer moving Coe to LB, if he chooses Iowa. If Coker is as good as he's hyped to be (a Shonn Greene back, possibly), then I don't want him splitting carries too much anyway. Plus Coe could be a dominating force at LB.

This is great. I would love to have two guys that just beat you up all game. The defense gets tired and in comes a new set of legs that carry 230+ lbs at you. That would be great. Everyone (NFL) uses two backs and it should be the same in college. I'm a fan of Thunder and more freaking thunder!
