Rocky Lombardi transferring

He did not have a good year. The second string QB jumped him towards the end of the season. And now they bring in a transfer. This is college football today. If there is any appearance of someone taking "your job", you leave.

I wonder if he goes down a division? Probably his best chance at a starting job.

Yep. Not that he's an NFL prospect, but playing at an FCS school is no longer an obstacle. They'll find you if you're good enough.

They need to do what is best for them. But from my point of view if someone else is better than you at the college level that means you are not going to make a living playing football. If you didn't make your first choice on colleges about academics then your 2nd choice sure in the hell better.

Didn't Lombardi have some kind of family connection to someone on the previous coaching staff? Then get a new coach when people are jumping ship due to a new coach. It wasn't a good situation.

Hopefully he finds a good fit for him, whatever the level.

I agree that they need to do what's best for them. I think there are a lot of kids that bail at the first sign of what they perceive as too much competition. In my opinion, he is not a QB at this level though and a transfer is probably his best option if he wants to continue to play the position.

I heard that he is a terrific athlete. Too bad his ego about playing QB blinded him. He's not playing to his strengths. He'll go pro in something other than football because of it.

But why? He isn't going to be a NFL quarterback. Hopefully he's getting a degree so he can pursue a career in life after football.
