Road Trip To Ann Arbor

Who's made the trip to Ann Arbor? We're going this year and would like to stay maybe 2-3 hours outside of Ann Arbor (west of Ann Arbor). Any reccomendations that are not Gary, Indiana.

I travel to Ann Arbor at least twice a year. If you are traveling 94 East and want to stop and travel the remaining distance on Saturday I would suggest Kalamazoo. I will tell you to leave the motel early because traffic backs up on 94 on game day. If it is a late start game then you wont have to rush. There are not many places to stay along I94 until you get to Kalamazoo.
 
Thanks Eye, I was kinda targeting Kalamazoo - but wondered if that was too close to Ann Arbor. Appreciate the tip!
 
Best place along I94 is New Buffalo right on the Michigan Indiana boarder. Great hotels, dinning, vineyards, and a great casino right on Lake Michigan great fall get away for sure.
 
New BUFFALO OR BATTLE CREEK/KALAMAZOO. HOTELS AND CASINOS AT BOTH. NICE NEW HOLIDAY INN JUST OUTSIDE OF BATTLE CREEK FOR ABOUT $100/NIGHT. NICE HOTEL
 
New Buffalo if you are staying weekend great little town with quality restaurants B/C and Kalamazoo just boring. Stay at Harbor INN in NB right on Lake
