Rivals 2018 BBall Recruit Rankings

I like it. With Tyler Cook now committed, Joe Wieskamp, Connor and Patrick coming in the fans are going to have to wear shades to the games because the future is so bright. Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I think after this year with the team we have in place our recruiting will be going to after burner. Good days ahead.

No apology necessary, Doc, the future is blindingly bright.

Love it! I'm thinking we just need to land a stud PG still in the next year. What say everyone else?

Looks like we already have. ESPN has Bohannon as a 4 star. He has an 80 ranking which is the same ranking as the guys at the bottom of their top 100 list.

The problem is, according to Thee Flowchart, we have no 'ships available to give to the class of '16, 1 to give to '17, and none to give to '18. We'll have to gain more by attrition, which will obviously happen. Hate to see it, though.

What's Cookin on the grill ? We can turn B1G into one big fat hamburger and goobles them up. Gooo Hawks! Excuse my burbing!;)

That is surprising. I don't think Bohannon is going to be a stud PG by any means. Connor will be a good one though

Does anyone who has seen Bohannon play think he'll stay at PG primarily, or move over to more of a SG? Also curious if Connor will stay at PG, wasn't sure if he was quick enough for the BIG level or not? He is still 2 years away though correct? I haven't seen either play. Can't really ever have enough good ball handlers and 3 pt shooters on the floor at once I guess. Excited about our potential outside shooting, something that has lacked on many recent Hawks teams in the last decade.

Bohannon at SG would not be a good thing in my opinion. He's probably 5'11. He will be a solid player for us but I don't see PG being a strength of the team next year and I don't view him as a "stud"

Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Lord knows, Coach McCaffery has seen Bohannon play often enough and if he thinks he was worth the scholarship, there must be something there.

He may not be a stud as in be the best player on a top 10 team. But he could very well be good enough to start on a top 10 team.

He has basketball in his blood. It's far from surprising. He is small is stature. That's enough to have people doubt him, but it doesn't mean he isn't a capable PG. Let's let him get on the court before we start saying he isn't capable of being a stud. You never know. At least he has his older brothers to give him advice. I think that alone should make him more prepared than the average freshman. He should know better than most what it's like to play at a major college program. He should know what it takes to balance the pressure of basketball with the demands of schoolwork.

Clearly he's got a smooth shot, but more than anything the future Hawkeye team is going to need someone capable of running the offense. That's it. Drive and dish. Put pressure on the defense and get the ball to playmakers in space. Whomever the PG ends up being they don't have to bear the weight of everything. They just have to distribute the ball.

At minimum, I think he looks as though he could do well, at the point, against zone defenses. We should be able to field enough dribble drivers, on a consistent basis, to keep teams in zone. And he looks like an excellent shooter. Handles and quickness seem to need work. But he'll have the luxury of having TC getting doubled.

I wonder what it would feel like, right now, if we'd also picked up Moore?

Between Williams, Bohannon, & C McCaffery, I think (at least) one of those will excel into a pg that we are hoping to have.

I'm thinking this is exactly what he could do for us. He has been running the show in his AAU team and they have had great success. I think he is just a smart baller who knows when to get his teammates the ball. Kind of reminds me of Stanzi on those 2008 and 2009 football teams. He could make mistakes but would always end up winning the game. Just a winner, can't teach it.
