Riley Reiff Draft Article

Heard from a couple of sources the Rams are high on Reiff. Personally I don't see him as a great value at 6, but he's a solid guy they can plug-in right away and improve a dismal OL. To me Reiff is a better version of Bulaga. He needs some polish to be successful as a LT long term but he's a good OT prospect and there's a premium on those these days.

I think Riley's explosiveness is underrated. He's far more fluid then Bulaga and Gallery. I know early in the draft people get consumed with raw athleticism, but people don't take into account how stable Reiff is, he's an incredibly safe pick. Worse case scenario is you have a stalwart RT for ten years. He's got the proper mindset, disposition, work-ethic. I can show you a lot of top 10 freak athletes that flamed out.

Why do Iowa fans bag on one of their own? It's would be great pub for the program to have another Iowa lineman go this high.

Where do we get all these mini me Mel Kipers who think they know more than NFL General Managers? Is there really an ability for us as fans to distinguish between an offensive lineman who should be drafted 6th or 15th?

This is a hawkeye forum board. If you were under the impression you wouldnt get people's opinions here just exactly what were you thinking the board would involve?

The average fan could draft better than the Oakland Raiders have over the past decade, so yes.

this is true and they could determine better trades. most of drafting is a crap shoot anyway. even the teams that are good at it know their first round picks are like 50-50 chances.

Russ Lande must not listen to the rest of the draft experts. He has a 2nd round tag on Reilly. Cannot figure his assessment out,but he is the ''expert'' featured on ''The Next Level'' on BTN all season. He did not have Reilly in his top ten Big Ten prospects all year, and he is sticking to that.

RR is not overly strong so he is susceptible to a good, strong bull rush. Speed edge rushers from time to time caused him problems, LT 6 years in the league have these problems so he won't be alone. Jake Long, Joe Thomas were a little more polished, but I think RR will be a solid pro.

I am not a scout or Kiper, just going by what my eyeballs tell me.:D
