Rick Kaczenski - A Truly Great Young Coach

Not enough is being written about Iowa's terrific young defensive line coach, Rick Kaczenski. He was a star player at Notre Dame and is doing a terrific job for the Hawks. In fact, I believe he is one of the major reasons for Iowa's success in 2008 and 2009. He is intelligent, articulate, and the players love him. He reminds me of Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern. I truly believe that he will be the next Iowa head coach when Captain Kirk retires.

countless times the discussion has come up about who will be KF's replacement once KF does decide to call it a day at the UofI. And almost everytime Rick Kaczenski is a name that seems to be overlooked. Coach K truely is an up and comer, whatever "it" is this guy just seems to have. I would be thrilled if one day, maybe in a decade or so, Coach K would become Head Coach K.

Bingo. I just hope the Hawkeyes can keep him on the staff - the word is out on him. He could also be the next Notre Dame head coach when the jerk Brian Kelly flops (which he will).

Kac will be the next defensive coordinator when Coach Parker retires.

It'll be a sad day when Norm retires. there aren't many old school coaches left in college football. Not that there's anything wrong with the new wave of coaches, someone like Norm is great to listen to.

I think Rick would be great as a DC but also think that the other Parker Phil might have a pretty good shot at the DC job when Norm is done.

All good cept for the Fitz comment. Coach K is not a dick,so that means he is not at all like Fitz.
