I know everyone is chomping at the bit to boo Ben Brust, but I say cheer him during his whole career, why?
If he had stayed with Iowa, either Basabe or Cartwright would not be with Iowa, I don't think there is any question who we all would rather have.

Cartwright and Basabe would have still been here had Brust come to Iowa. Brust is not a point guard and any coach other than Lickliter realized this. Fran even said it in his transcript when asked the question.

Brust was not going to affect anything. Basabe was coming to Iowa no matter who was on the roster as he was linked to Fran.
 
I'm not down for booing the kid because he honestly didn't do anything wrong other than get out of an LOI that he signed at Iowa and sign at another Big10 institution which I believe is against everything that the Big10 stood for.

All the kid (and his dad) talked about on Twitter was how great Iowa was blah blah blah....and then when an opportunity came along to play at a 'better' program he turned tail and ran as fast as he could. He wanted to be 're-recruited' by the new staff....hey kid, if you thought you could come to Iowa and actually make a difference then you would be here. Knowing now what we do about Fran, I would have loved to have been involved with that little recruiting trip when a limited athletically slow shooting guard told him to re-recruit him or he was heading to Wisky...I imagine Fran would have received a few T's for that little outburst.

The kid averages less minutes than T.J.Sayre. As per most of Licks recruits, we are lucky that he isn't gobbling up a scholly for 4 yrs.
 
He won't play this year and depending on the schedule is set up with nebraska being added he might now play here until he's a junior.

I think when you look at this quote, and look at the way that Fran likes to play, I'm guess, that he wasn't too upset that Brust left. I think we have seen the last of 6' or 6'1 shooter with little quickness being recruited.....It seems he prefers length and athleticism. Even look at Ogelsby and White. Both can shoot, but both also have some length to them.....
 
I think Fran made it clear that he had no problem with Brust moving on. But, I suspect he is not pleased that Bo was recruiting a signed committed player like Brust before Brust moved on. And that Wis appealed the longstanding rule against signed players going elsewhere in the league on scholly.

Bo and staff were badmouthing Iowa to Brust and probably to Uthoff.
No love between Fran and Bo,I predict....screw Bo...Boo them all!!!
