It definitely hurts losing out on this kid especially to Penn State seeing that he projects at the only relative hole in their lineup. Hopefully this loss will mean that the coaching staff can offer a more aggressive scholarship package to Brooks Black, Broc Berge, Isaiah Martinez or any other blue chip targets to help our chances with them.

Would have loved to see this kid in IC. Agree with OP that this was the worst possible outcome from a Hawkeye perspective.
Meh, get used to it. PSU is keeping its studs home, and they will be in it every year. They'll reload, just like we do. Their studs are more well known, because the east coast guys have big tournaments like Super and Beast, etc.
I saw some quote on TOS, that Iowa has never had a champion from PA and only 2 AA in it's history. PA being good at wrestling isn't a new thing, we'll adapt. It might mean a nice run from PSU, but then it will get to the point where the selling point will be to "knock off Penn State". Just like it has been done to us.
