respite from worry over guys leaving for NFL

Glad to see our guys succeed. Our team will not be lessened by this, but strengthened in the long run. Next man in! The more guys moving on to the NFL helps in terms of recruiting and being able to promise kids with a greater chance of early playing time when they put in the hard work. Every other team throughout the B1G is also losing players to graduation and early departures, so I think our chances of having another competitive team will be high. Hell, the West division for once may be considered the strongest division in the B1G next year.

What other teams in the West division have early departures? I know Iowa has 3 and most likely a 4th coming. Wisconsin has one. Let me know who else is leaving early.

Hornibrook is back for wisconsin...does that count as a plus or a minus? I swear that dude ONLY hammers on Iowa and blows for the rest of the year.

Damn good question! I suppose its a plus for everyone else and a minus for Iowa. It was pretty frustrating watching him kill Iowa in Kinnick but look like a 3rd string punter against other teams.

Other than Wiscy OT David Edwards, I havent seen any others as of yet from the West. But Wiscy loses 4/5’s of that offensive line. Graduation will take a good bunch from a lot of teams. Im just saying, with what we have returning, we should still be in pretty good shape. The schedule doesnt do us any favors, but teams like Iowa St., Michigan, and Penn St. will look decidely different. Northwestern loses Thorson but will be replaced by Hunter Johnson. Purdue loses David Blough but returns Eric Singelar. I see Nebraska, Minnesota, and Purdue improving and Northwestern not losing too much either. I think the West division will be top to bottom, tougher than the East division next year. Wisconsin continues to take a step back. Illinois will be improved but still the cellar dweller.
2019 West Power Rankings
1. Iowa
2. Northwestern
3. Purdue
4. Nebraska
