Respect for the new coach

I think that if Lick goes then the coach that is brought in has to have enough previous rep to afford him patience with the fans. At no point was I ever willing to be patient with Lick because he was a midmajor coach that took over a program that was already solid at Butler. Of course he did well but he never built Butler. With that being said who offers that level of immediate respect that will be needed to go through at least another couple of years of growing pains?

Some sign of improvement from year to year would go a long way to gain the fans support of a new coach. We sure haven't seen that the last three seasons.
