Request for Hawk fans at game in Evanston

I am expecting about 78 Hawk fans to be at Welsh-Ryan on Thursday night, but I hope there are more than that. Irregardless, I have a hunch we might be forced to hear the annual "Just Like Football" chant as time winds down in the game.

I have worked diligently to find what most upsets Northwestern fans and I have narrowed it down to two chants - "Not an Ivy" and "Safety School." These NU kids have nothing but the books, and when they are reminded of their failure to secure admission to an Ivy League school and that when they were applying for schools "Northwestern and Cornell" were their safety schools, it is my understanding that they can become unhinged.

I beggeth of you, my fellow Hawk fans, DO NOT LEAVE the arena no matter how bad the game is (even if we are down 50 with 2 minutes to go) and assist me in starting a "Not an Ivy" chant that is so loud that we can drown out the "Just like football" chant.

Your posts continue to embarrass me and most Hawkeye fans.

I go to Northwestern, and I'm proud of it. It's hands down the best school in the Big Ten and a one of the best school in the nation. Saying that students here "have nothing but books" is ignorant, but it's what I expect from you.

Remember to stay far, far away from the dangerous "EL"

"You're" posts embarass Northwestern and "the" most Northwestern students and alums, troll. Michigan's the best school in the B10, but I guess I must have struck a nerve by calling out NU's academics and gave you terrible flashbacks of the day you didn't get off the waitlist at Brown. Sorry, pal.

I'm not sure I know how to accurately label you. TavernHawk who claims to attend purple kitty-kat U? But can't write a coherent sentence, and chose macgyver as a screen name?
You're an enigma, wrapped in a riddle, surrounded by a question. Dipped in purple paint.

Edit: OK4P, if I could be there to chant loudly at the pan-Asian NU student section, I would. But I can't.

Interesting assessment, Vin. Note the incorrect spelling of MacGuyver in the username, too. Combined with the sentence structure, I'm calling the only way this 'Cat goes to NU is if he is the illegitimate offspring of Richard Dean Anderson and Richie has run into hard times and couldn't swing the buy-in at Dartmouth, thus relegating junior to NU.

You continue you "embarass" yourself.
Also, what makes me a troll. I grew up outside Iowa City, born and raised a Hawkeye fan. Just because I am going to grad school that's not Iowa, doesn't make me a troll.

Sorry to use facts Mr. Dodd, but NU is the #12 school in the country.

I want you to have fun at the game, but when you start getting upset again by the "Just like Football" and "State School" chants, don't expect my pity.

I may have made a typo, but you are implying you are a racist. Enjoy your life.

Sorry, pal, I thought you were a troll with all the typos and the garbled sentence in your first post - you've gotta admit it was a reasonable assumption on my part. I don't care about the "State School" chants - I had the stats for NU for grad school, but didn't even bother when I looked at the tuition. Those kids who are paying Ivy League prices for a WUSTL quality education will wish they had gone to Illinois, Iowa or Wisconsin when Sallie Mae comes to visit in a few years, but I'm sure Sallie Mae will take repayment in prestige points accrued by NU grads. I know when I pay back my miniscule student loans that bear a 1.625% interest rate while working side by side with (and earning the same salary as) NU grads who are nearly 200 large in the hole, I admit I kind of laugh a little bit at how "smart" those Northwestern kids are. I also admit that back when I lived in Streeterville and would BS with all the NU law and Kellogg folks in my building who told me about how horribly the on campus interviewing and job placements were, the schadenfreude eased the sting of 1,000 consecutive football losses to NU. I was genuinely jealous of the folks at Feinberg, though, truly a world class institution and clearly the only product NU sells that is worth the tuition.

You better carry that US News around with you to prove to everyone how awesome Northwestern is just in case someone knows the truth about that overpriced toilet. You should probably also buy a Northwestern ring to wear around to the bars, you flash that thing around and panties will drop.

You nailed me on the MacGyver spelling - that'll learn me to rely on that idiot Vintage ever again.

Anyway, you going to game? If so, where ya sitting?

So there aren't a lot of Asian kids enrolled at Pat Fitzgerald U? Are YOU Asian?
When my bro-in-law taught there (he of the PhD from Illannoy), and we went to b-ball games and such, I used to see a whole lot of Asian kids on campus and in the stands.
I dunno if my powers of observation make me a racist, though.

Actually, rankings are by definition not facts. They are instead the opinion of one person or group. You could find a whole other list where NW is far above or below that ranking. There is no formula for making such facts. I could write an article naming Coe College the top college in the nation, doesn't make it a fact.
