Renovations?

I don't know if there are any official plans for further renovation of carver...but wouldn't it be great if removed some of the top rows of the arena and put a ring of luxury boxes/press boxes, (or just have some of the space be concessions for the concourse)? build them all the way up so that the arena area is completely enclosed from the concourse and the sound would just reverberate even more? You could have some open areas at the top to satisfy the ADA requirements...

I know it wouldn't be much sound right now but the way I look at is...this regime is pretty much lost. We might as well take care of ALL the facilities problems so the new coach will come in with brand new facilities. I think it would make Carver one of the best looking and really functional arenas in the country.

I guess you heard wrong. This was never a consideration.

I am sure I saw it on one of the sites, probably just a wish list. It would be cool, but a hard sell right now I am sure anyway!

Last I knew the lower fold-out seats were going to be replaced with some sort of permanent, premium seating. To be combined with improved access so that the big-buck folks wouldn't have to go up and down all the stairs. Not sure how they're going to do that unless they use the tunnel. Skyboxes/luxury suites are out, though I wouldn't be surprised if there will be some sort of off-court premium club area.

You might be confusing luxury suites with premium seating.

Carver's seats are nice with seatbacks?? I truly believe the best way to really make the arena state of the art would be to do what I describe...that way the big time donors can have luxury...And we can ring the students around the floor like MSU.
