Remember Alford beat UCONN his first game

Remember that Alford beat defending national champion UCONN in his first game on a "neutral" court in New York. His tenure didn't work out too well (although I don't think he was nearly as bad as some people do). My point is that as high as I was about the future of the program after that win, it didn't work out. So despite my every urge to sign myself out of Hawkeye basketball like a problem gambler does at a casino after that first game, I'm going to hold out some hope for the future.

I don't know how it gets done, but I would like to see what our players could do with something that even remotely resembles a home court advantage - that makes even average players pick their games up. Not sure how to get attendance to that point other than the obvious "winning".

For me, I'm not even looking at wins/losses this season. Basically I'm looking for a system being implemented and the players improving. Also hope for solid recruiting, nobody bailing, no serious injuries, or off the court trouble.

Next season, I want to see results. Better record, competitive basically. Not expecting a winning record but a marked improvement from 2010-2011 as a whole and the individual parts.

2012-2013 (I know, a long time from now) I'm hoping for a middle of the road B10 team (.500 conference record). If the B10 stays top of line, that should be enough to get Iowa back to legit NCAA consideration in March.
