What a great season of Iowa basketball this has been. 9 kids have banded together and played as one cohesive team. Emotion, tenacity and clutch play have been displayed. Are we a dominant team or extremely athletic team? No; but this team does not quit and plays beautifully together.
So different than last year, and so fun to watch. I think the best story is Cook. He came back and now he is in the middle of the celebrations and smiling a lot. It is great to see. His post-game interviews are excellent; a thoughtful, articulate young man who is a very tough player and is taking great PRIDE in this turnaround. There are 8 other great stories as well, but his leadership has stood out to me.
I hope for some more wins, a good seed in the Big Dance, and then maybe we can make some noise in the tournament. A truly special season from this group.
