They could have called two or three fouls on the Goofers' last possession if they'd wanted. However, I'm happy they didn't. Sparty is one of the Big Ten teams I root for when they're not playing us.

Minnesota...isn't.

I would agree that there were fouls that could have been called but were not. I am also glad that the Gophers lost. I don't think it was a great set by the Gophers either. It didn't look like anyone wanted to take the last shot. Sparty played pretty good defense as well.

MSU just continues to not really impress me. Yes, their defense is really tough but you need to score to win games. If Allen and Summers continue to struggle with their shots they won't last to long in the tourney. That said, Nolen really hurt his team by slacking on his academics because he would have been the guy to get into the lane on that last shot and he could have D'd up Lucas today.
