Recruiting talent to turn this around?

Can or is the staff able to recruit the players that can give Iowa the talent to be where we expect them to be? They've done it before, but can they do it again? Will these type of players want to come to Iowa? How is the product on the field going to affect recruiting.

Obviously they were able to recruit players back in the later 90s and early 2000 to have a run, so why can't they do it now? I'm not sure if they can or can't what do you think?

I think KoK didn't recruit, and NP was not as able due to health situation. I've thought this for years. Yes, hopefully the new assistants can recruit, but this will take a while. We are now the recipient of red shirt year of 07, and attrition of 08 and 09.

Way premature for people to be placing the blame on the new staff, but I think you hit the nail on the head. Recruiting. I've watchcd a lack of it for about 5 years now. Also true is an inordinate amount of attrition.

Iowa needs to start getting speed WR's if they want to run short routes. The bigger, possession-type guys won't cut it in that offense.

Iowa already HAS the talent on the roster, it's just incredibly young.

Here is a list of a few great Iowa players: Dallas Clark, Adrian Clayborn, Chad Greenway, Bob Sanders, Shoon Greene, Nate Kaeding, Bryan Bulaga, Reilly Reiff, Matt Roth, Pat Angerer, etc......

Scan your memory banks closely. Do you really believe that these guys were as good as sophomores as they were as seniors? Not even close.

Iowa is so young. Debate the reasons for why we got here all you want, but this is a young team, with a much brighter future. Judge them based on the entire 2012 season, not just 25% of it. Its not the end of the world.

Most of the talent is in the program...it's just all Freshman, Redshirt freshman and Sophs....and that is partly the coaching staffs fault...but they will be better.

With that said, there IS young talent here.

But if an ugly season turns a really early hot recruiting season into a late fall of decommits, we are in trouble, as far as building consistent classes that have talent..

That Is what scares me. I saw that BlaIr tweeted that Delano HIll vIsIted ND thIs weekend. It would really hurt to lose hIm now.

No good players are gonna come to a 2 win Iowa team. Maybe kirk can get a bunch of recruits to the game this weekend. Maybe Iowa will upset Minnesota.
