I believe at nearly all levels of college basketball, from junior college to BCS it's at least 75% recruiting. Most of these guys can coach, ok, maybe a few are suspect, but who can recruit and put a staff together that can get into a kids living room? In my opinion the Ferentz way doesn't work at Carver Hawkeye Arena. While Ferentz can build a football player in 3,4, or even 5 years, college basketball doesn't offer you the luxury of that time. Certainly, a player can improve their skills, but you don't build a basketball player. They either have good skills to work with or they don't. They are either athletic or they are not. So while a big name coach would be fine, please Mr. Barta, hire the absolute best recruiter you can get your hands on!! If that is a big name coach, mid-major, assistant, or Pat Summit I really don't care. I just want someone who can put some athletes on the floor.
