Recruiting & Jake Rudock's old HS St. Thomas Aquinas

With regards to the QB change, how will it impact Iowa being able to recruit Jake Rudock's high school St. Thomas Aquinas?

Probably not the well since his old HS coach had some opinions on it... It is what it is we aren't going to make much of a dent in a school like that unless it's a kid like Rudock anyway. A good not great prospect and we can sell 2 or 3 years of playing time at their position much like he got.... That school churns out studs usually that we have no shot at and whatever our slim odds were before they aren't any better.

Exactly how many guys have we reeled in from this High school connection in the four recruiting classes since jake? I'm pretty sure we did not exploit this in the past, so it's not likely to happen now.

The school that will benefit from future recruiting at St. Thomas Aquinas is Michigan. They have the brand to lure the top level talent that comes from this school and Harbaugh will make J.R. into a much more effective QB than Greg Davis/Kirk Ferentz. I think it is a given that Harbaugh can coach more QB nuance out of J.R. than the coaches at Iowa can and Michigan has more talent at most positions than Iowa. It is a good move for J.R. and a good move for Michigan. It may also turn out to be a good move for Iowa, if C.J. can elevate to the level we all expect.

That's a top program with a lot of talent yr in & yr out. It would be nice to get a little bit of a pipeline from down there to Iowa

This is why a couple of others and myself said that JR was going to start the bowl game. He wasn't going to lose his job in his home state since he started every game he was healthy.

This is all on Ferentz. He blew the call on the starting QB all season and even had chances to correct it in the season. Didn't.

Then he tried to walk the high wire by using both QBs as balance in post-season and fell off. He's got a nice net to fall into. Not much of an audience to even oooo-and-aaahhh.
