One item that concerns me after all the inuendo, rumors, etc. on the boards over Coach's future yesterday, what does this do to the recruiting that is being done to bring in a player to fill Tucker's scholly?
I would guess this will cause any recruit that was considering Iowa to take a real hard look at taking that chance.
Also, does all this force Barta's hand to make a quicker decision than he might have originally wanted? Will we see some type of announcement, to stay with Coach or to move on, by the first part of next week in order to calm down the recruits?
If Barta does decide to make a move, how quickly does he make the new hire? With many of the names thrown around on the site being currently employed and having their teams headed for the Big Dance will that slow the process or change the "ranking" of prospective candidates?
Personally, I have been supportive of Coach Lick getting at least one more year to turn things around all year and up until yesterday it seemed as though the fanbase was split about 50/50 but it appears the mood of many changed over the past few weeks and today the split appears to be closer to 75/25 in favor of moving on. I think early on in the year the progress being made was pretty clear but over the past few weeks the season just really got away and that is fueling the dissention that is appearing.
