Recruit Ranking Question

Do kids, like Boyle or Cook, who commit early to Iowa, not get ranked as high because of their early commits? In other words, if they'd played out the recruiting game longer, would they have been 4 star kids? I know it can just be a perception thing, but perception can become reality, particularly if you're being ranked with others, and others can use rankings as a selling tool.

Overall no. Cook was the only player from Iowa in this years pre season ESPN 300 but he fell out soon after his commit. Iowa State fans will say that Lazards rivals ranking dropped because he verballed to them.

Even though is wasn't an 'early' signing, I believe Daniels rankings/stars on various sites have gone up since his commitment and he could go anywhere he wanted.

First, Iowa is not ISU. Second, I think like anything, some scouts could write off a kid because of where he commits, they're just not good at their jobs. And, they are in the increasingly minority with the competition between sites.

I agree with the scouts writing off kids. Ive noticed this yr that some kids lose some stars because they commit to a smaller school. And I've seen a bunch of kids who committed to Bama and the next day they go up in the rankings. That's one of the reasons I don't buy into the rankings as much as I did
