Reality of the situation (Guys in the NFL)

Chalk me up as one of the people that had very high expectations this year and has been greatly dissappointed, but when you have 4 guys from last years team starting as Rookies in the NFL (and doing well for winning teams except Spievey), that means a huge loss of ability and I think the inconsistency is a result. Especially when you factor in that Edds would likely be playing a lot if he wasn't hurt. That's almost 1/4 of the team from last year. That is tough for Alabama and Fla and USC to reload from, let alone little old Iowa.

I'm sure it was not his intent but Pat's statements could be taken as a real indictment of the way Ferentz and Doyle are running this program:

If it's out there, lurking, Angerer has yet to run into it. In college at Iowa, a season generally was a 13-game grind. Angerer's first season with the Colts has not been as tiring, at least not to this point.

"Actually in college I was probably more worn out," he said. "Now, I feel great." "The practices are fast, but it's nothing that's wearing on you," Angerer said. "Lifting (weights) is not tearing your body down, it's helping you recover. "I'm taking care of my diet, and that helps a lot. College was a little bit different. Preparing for a bowl game, you're hitting, you're hitting, you're hitting."

Also, some of the current players are focusing on what they have been told they need to work on for the next level. This doesn't always translate out to success within a particular college system, or a particular play.
