Hey, KF and Nate Stanley have something in common.

They both have been listed in the Top 8 of the Big Ten in 2018.

Harbaugh is one of those guys that gets quick results, then burns out his team just as quickly.

I don't understand why a future (hall of fame) coach would be ranked 8th.

For one thing it's a snapshot of the right now. If there was such a poll in 2005, I'd imagine Kirk would have been about #3 at least.

He's been a coach for 19 years in the B1G. I imagine his perceived ranking has fluctuated anywhere from 3-10, depending on the recent history at the time.

I was thinking the same thing before I scrolled down to see your post. It is odd isnt it? Is he a HOF because of longevity, because he coaches at a top 30-35 school yet still wins big once in awhile, what?

There are already a couple/few other future HOFers in that list

Fitz gets about as much as you can from a small university with top academic requirements. He has a crappy year now and then but overall he has done a great job. He takes chances in all phases of the game when he needs to to make up for some shortcomings.

I like Lovie.

He was put in a totally impossible position.

Agree. The Bears should have never fired Lovie but instead the Bears personnel people hung on to Cutler way too long and their purse strings can be tight leading to the situation the last few years.

The Bears are a good example of you dont know what you are getting when you fire a pretty good coach who had the bears in a super bowl and another NFC champ game and maybe one other playoff appearance over 8 years. They have been crap since they fired him.

Now I think Lovie can be more challenged in game management that KF which is saying something but a hell of a Dee coach.

I don't agree. He's an NFL guy. He's out of his element and didn't quite understand magnitude of Illinois problems. I don't think he quite grasped how much of a dumpster fire Illinois is. Meanwhile he's losing a team that was kind of lost to begin with. His talents are totally wasted at Illinois.
