we can start with QB
then move to RB
then move to WR
then to TE
then to defensive back
you can include guys who started at Iowa and finished their career elsewhere. Mo Fleming imo proved he was under-utilized. Can you think of anyone else?

QB:

1) Weinke
2) Sokol
3) Beutjer
4) Christensen
5) Manson
6) Petras
7) Ruddock
8) Tate/Stanzi/CJB/Banks/Stanley
9) Chandler
10) McCann

The coaching staff is full of idiots and they run off all the best QBs leaving behind scrubs who suck. We would have 3 Nattys if they didn't run off all the good QBs.

I forgot that Wiegers should be 4th on there so move everyone else down. Wiegers beat Purdue last year, something Nate Stanley couldn't do.

Nice trolling to start off this thread. Lmao!!

Yeah he is really playing along. Hijack

Seriously:

1. Tie - Banks and CJB - both have mobility, moxie, strong accurate arm with quick release, touch
2. Close to first is Drew Tate in 2004 and most of 2005, injured in 2006, same qualities as above
3. Ricky Stanzi - mobile and fast enough to get first downs, accurate, etc Junior year INTs a negative
4. Nathan Chandler - big strong, decent speed, accurate enough, made big throws
5. Nate Stanley - accuracy and lack of speed mobility are negatives
Rest are about the same but Christensen was pretty inaccurate.

Doesn't get any worse than Jake the 5 feet in the Turf Snake and Kyle McCan't.

What about players that never made it to Iowa? After all, the coaching staff is obviously actively avoiding trying to recruit good players.

Too many to name, but let us not forget that if moron Ferentz had landed Pryor, then Pryor would not have executed that run on 4th and 10 that allowed OSU to beat us in 2010. How did Mahomes get away from the staff? Baker Mayfield?

haha, Kyle McCant. Well McCann was serviceable and a good QB, led the offense to 7-5 and a bowl win. Four of the losses were very close and this team could have been like the 2003-4 squads. Perhaps KF needed to play Banks a little more and if the offense scores 3-7 more points per loss they win 10 games.

If the TE position is included that's interesting: Kittle, Hock, D. Clark, Fant, Moeaki, Chandler, Krieger-Koble, can't remember the rest.

Banks needed to be the starter!!! That was blatantly obvious.

Cook, Flagg and Slutzker say hi. Plus that one guy who Kaldenberg said would be awesome. And Duzey was really good, too.

Serviceable. That's the word. Ferentz just wants to play guys who are "serviceable" instead of playing the freaking all stars. Blake Larsen was a super highly rated recruit and I don't think he even started a game, while undersized walk on players like Robert Gallery got starting roles.

Yeah, probably as the season wore on but Banks made some mistakes also. A big pick against Wisky and other posters have mentioned he ducked out of bounds late against Mich when they needed a yard for a first down.

He brought to much to the table the positives far out way the negatives in comparison to McCann.

Just one look at the qb list makes that painfully obvious to all but the homers like you. The second clue was the legendary move of sitting soon to be heisman runner up banks to kyle mccann but that’s what a ferentz does

You don’t freeze a future heisman talent the rest of the year for stepping out of bounds. If given the same play, mccann would have been sacked for 13 yards but ferentz is clueless when it comes to judging skill players

Saying Christensen was pretty inaccurate is like saying water is kinda wet or the sun is kinda hot. That guy would miss relievers 10 yards away by a hash mark......

Did you really forget about Eric McCollom?
