Anyone hear remember Ralph? He hated turnovers and often he would bench a player for a turnover. Maybe Fran needs to do that. Marble never learned that he needed to protect the ball when he drove.

FYI, Marble has one of the best assist to turn over ratios in the conference.

Sorry for the lost formatting, but here are the numbers.

To me what Marble does, isn't classified as a turnover. He drives blindly to the hoop, misses wide open players on the wings, and throws up an off balanced shot. It not a turnover....but the result is the same.

That being said...he has improved this year, hopefully he just learns to take what the defense gives him, and stops forcing stupid shots up on fast breaks.

I am not old enough to have seen his teams but in my mind he is the gold standard for Iowa bball...I believe it was one of his teams that averaged over 100 ppg in Big Ten play? And he would have them practice with a flat ball sometimes to emphasize passing? awesome, you don't see that anymore, it's all NBA dribble game.

Marble was weak with the ball last night; he's not physically or mentally tough enough YET to deal w/ Sparty pushing and grabbing.

Bryce was very careless with the ball.

Not a chance for us with those two playing w/o valuing the basketball last night. Next game...

I'm not old enough to have seen a Bucky O'Conner coached team, but he is the defacto gold standard of Iowa basketball.

He had a couple final four runs but it looks like his last two seasons were 21-23? I would say it was more a case of having the Fab Five (not the UM group) than his coaching. I didn't realize those guys played in his era.

It's about the bro's and joe's more than the X's and O's right?

If I'm not mistaken Ralph Miller's Iowa teams were 2-1 against John Wooden's UCLA teams, the one loss coming during the Bruin's record win streak. Can anyone confirm or refute this?
