Quick Thought on Gardner-Webb Win

Come March, nobody talks about bad wins. I dont really care that the team had to come back from down 23 at home against something called Gardner-Webb. The only thing I care about is they won and dont yet have an embarrassing loss on their resume.

The team also learned that they arent good enough to just show up and beat teams, not even teams from the Big South that are picked to finish next to last in their division. Hopefully we start to see a team that plays a full game now.

+1. It's a 'win-win'--got the W, and a wake-up call, plus, confidence that we can storm back when down big.

I think the fact the Garden was able to scare us shows we still have at least one Carmel Camel left in us. I was thinking we'd get through non-con with no embarrassing loses...now I'm not so sure.

That GW team is not going to finish near the bottom of their conference.

I agree. I have seen some terrible teams come to Carver and they were not one of them, not even close. Should Iowa have been down like they were? Hell no, but that wasnt a bad team.

I don't think so. Losing to UNI, ISU, VT or Wichita St won't be embarrassing so take them out of the equation, the rest of the non-conf is garbage and that GW team is probably the best team Iowa will see of the remaining non-conf games.
