Question on Barbee Recruiting

I continue to hear about how this guy can recruit really well, and maybe he did as an assistant, but I was looking and it looks like his UTEP classes aren't really anything special, so can someone help explain to me what makes him so good? I don't care if you have links or not but just some type of explanation about what is so special about his UTEP classes, because I'm not seeing it.

Personally I don't care what he did as an assistant because we wouldn't be bringing him here as an assistant, I'm more concerned with how he has done as a head coach and from what I can see it isn't that special IMO.

Apparently, some people seem to think one's ability to recruit is related directly to the color of one's skin. I've heard how Barbee would be a great recruiter because he could pull in the African-American players, the inner-city kids, and so on. This is just ridiculous. Since when is Barbee a great recruiter? I think he's a good coach, who gets the most out of his talent, but I'm with hawkeyescott, I see nothing special about his recruiting abilities.
In other words: The problem with IOWA basketball is NOT that we "just have way too many white guys."
The problem IS we don't recruit the best guys in the midwest, let alone our own state.
