Question and Answer

Was Iowa as good as they appeared up until February? No Captain obvious

Is Iowa as bad as they appear now? No again except maybe for the last 5 minutes of the half

Will Iowa win another game? Maybe one in the Big Ten Tournament?

Can Iowa become a consistent challenger for the top? Probably not as it is difficult to recruit ti Iowa. However I can remember 20 years ago when Wisconsin was a sure win and that went on for a long time

Is Fran the answer? Well he is sure an upgrade from Lick and plays an fans style game. If he doesnt win a tournament game this year he will have won 1 in 6 years and it will be real hard to improve on that next year. So is that the standard Iowa should expect and accept?

What went wrong with this team? Izzo after Iowa beat them for the second time said Iowa usually is not a tough team but this one was. I think he may have been right the first time. But for me it just comes down to shooting. Uhtoff was great for 3/4 of the year and cant make a jump shot to save his life. Without his offense this team has no chance

I guess you are what your record says you are. Cliche but true.

Looking like a 10-11 loss team going into the NCAA Tournament. We can debate all we want about what this team SHOULD have been able to do... But it's moot point now.

Melt down complete.

Reversion to the mean is what some might tag it.

I kept waiting for an exorcism to finally take place last night but looks like the demons are still present.........or maybe it was the Ghost of Steve Alford that presided.

Another even more puzzling question that I don't have an answer to: Why is there a thread on an Indiana forum blasting Dakich for cheering against the Hoosiers the entire game last night?

I'll admit, I yelled at my computer screen when I saw that.

Iowa got my hopes up early in the Big 10 season but my signature hasn't changed since last March when I made my prediction...12-6 in conference play. They still might meet my expectations but can do no worse than coming up 1 game short...which I can live with if I step back and look at things objectively. And I remember being told 12-6 wasn't realistic with White and Gabe gone. So I'll have to be reminded of who all picked Iowa to do better than 11-7...guaranteed worse case scenario.

In B1G play Iowa's losses have been by this many points: 6, 7, 4, 8, 4, 3 (average 5.333 points)
In B1G play Iowa's wins have been by this many points: 13, 7, 11, 17, 11, 14, 12, 14, 24, 12, 4 (average 12.64 points)

During their 10-1 stretch they never had a close game down the stretch except for the Maryland loss. Iowa was blowing teams out of the gym. that team wasn't a fluke.

What seems to be a major issue is Iowa chokes with 5ish minutes left in the game when the score is close. All of these losses have gone down to the wire and except for the Minnesota game, Iowa has lost them all. This also includes the Iowa State game earlier in the year.

It seems like this team just loses its identity with the game on the line. They play scared, they try to dribble up top and run the clock...and thats just not their style of play.

WTF? My wife told me just turn down the sound during the game last night if I couldn't quit yelling about what an Indy homer ****** bag Jockiche was being.

We need to make more of the high percentage shots we're currently missing...like layups. We need to make more free throws. We need to value the ball more...eliminate the careless turnovers. Do these 3 things and I think we are winning by double figures again. How many of these games would we have won if we shoot 45% from the field or 75% from the line? I'm not going to look because it will frustrate me.
