The Petras ship looks to be taking on a lot of water. He has had over 2 years to take the job and just doesn't have the skills to be a "good" Big Ten QB
Just can't see him changing that. However I won't be surprised to see him play at Nebraska
Padilla has done a decent job last couple of weeks. Obviously mobility advantage over Petras gives him an advantage. That being said he hasn't been great and really has been a bit lucky that he hasn't thrown a few more interceptions. I realize he hasn't played a lot but he seems to just lock on to a receiver. Could that get better with playing time. Maybe but so far he has been more of a factor in not making mistakes than making plays. Kind of like Petras has been
I will say that our receivers don't seem to get wide open often. I think that goes back to offensive schemes
Not sure if there is another good option available but I would think it will be wide open next year and a huge question mark
